About Theme

The theme of the summit will be Associations: Unlocking Africa's Potential. This will address how associations, as civil society organizations can play a greater role in driving the African development agenda. The two-day educational event is built around our theme and will feature other presentations in "Ted-Talk" style, panels, workshops and networking events. Two tracks will run in parallel: Finance & Administration, Governance & Strategy, and Technology. Speakers will be from recognized African institutions, international associations, and African business and association colleagues.


AAS Objectives:

  • To bring together leading not-for-profit senior managers and volunteer leaders to learn from each other as well as from global association professionals
  • To meet key support partners and service providers who work with associations to professionalize the industry through quality of services. These will include Africa CVBs, DMOs, AMCs, PCOs, Convention Centers, Hotels, Tech companies, and many others
  • To build professional networks and gain solutions to challenges that may be keeping organizations from being effective.
  • To create a pool of knowledge sharing and networking platform for African professional and trade associations and build a strong community of associations.
  • To explore the best practices and share ideas on growing the industry in Africa
  • To provide an opportunity for the upcoming professionals to learn and get trained by the various esteemed industry experts.



About AfSAE:

The African Society of Association Executives is a nonprofit professional voice of the association management profession in Africa. AfSAE's mission is anchored on building and advancing the importance and professionalism of associations in Africa through education, advocacy, and advisory. This first of its kind meeting in Africa is organized for professional development, sharing, capacity building and networking. We believe it is up to us to chart the future of association and not for profit management for African associations, societies, federations and philanthropic organizations.

How to participate:


1. Sponsorship: We have two ways for you to participate. The first is as a sponsor. We have different levels of sponsorship with different recognition and benefits, which can be customized to what you want to accomplish using the Summit as a sales and marketing platform for your brand and or your facilities in Nairobi. Sponsorship levels range from $2000 – 20,000 USD.


2. Exhibition: The second opportunity is as an Exhibitor. We will have pre-fabricated table tops that you can literally walk up to with your laptop, brochures and cards to start networking and doing business. Tea breaks and lunches will be among the exhibits so lots of exposure! 2x2m tables are available at $1100 USD.
